About the Artist
Shoshana Church is a contemporary painter and cannabis wellness coach and a Physician Assistant based in Southern Illinois. Her work blends abstraction and representational elements through layered techniques that include collage, inks, spray paint, acrylic, and oil. Guided by an intuitive process, her paintings evolve organically as she responds to color, texture, and emerging forms.
Faith plays a central role in Church's creative practice. Many of her works are inspired by scripture and created through a reflective process of prayer and contemplation. Hidden marks, layered imagery, and symbolic elements often appear within the paintings, inviting viewers to slow down and discover meaning over time.
Church's work explores themes of freedom, trust, and spiritual reflection. She is particularly interested in the moment when abstraction begins to reveal something recognizable—an image, a gesture, or a sense of movement. This same spirit of discovery and healing informs her work as a cannabis wellness coach, where she supports clients in exploring plant medicine as a tool for restoration and wholeness.
She has exhibited in independent exhibitions and juried calls for art and continues to develop a body of work that reflects both spiritual inquiry and intuitive creation.
